Richard has been working in the IT industry for over ten years. He started his career managing the marketing and PR for organizations such as OpenText and Brocade before joining Interxion as UK Marketing Manager. He later moved to Interxion’s Cloud Team as International Marketing and Alliance manager where he was responsible for driving the adoption of cloud connectivity via Interxion’s Cloud Connect Solution. In his current role at Microsoft he is responsible for managing and recruiting cloud networking partners in EMEA and working with them to deliver integrated connectivity solutions that help Microsoft’s customers deploy advanced workloads in the cloud.

During his time at AMS-IX he also led the development of the new corporate strategy and product portfolio, as well as initiating and managing all strategic partnerships. Mark has a proven history of running successful Internet Exchange businesses across the world. His extensive experience with the peering ecosystem and networks in Europe puts him in a great position to execute Megaport’s European business plan. The deep relationships that Mark has built within the industry and his intrinsic knowledge of the data services marketplace equips him to provide excellent guidance as Megaport looks to unlock future growth opportunities.

Prior to joining Equinix he was responsible for driving Level 3’s product management and marketing strategy for their cloud, security, data center and content delivery network. He joined Equinix in 2014 and has since been advising enterprises and service providers on cloud transformation.
